NATURAL PARK OF THE GARROTXA VOLCANIC AREA
The Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa is the best example of volcanic landscape in the Iberian Peninsula. It has about 40 volcanic cones between the ages of 10,000 and 700,000, ten craters, well-preserved cones and more than twenty basaltic lava flows.
The most emblematic volcanoes are those of Santa Margarida, Montsacopa and Croscat. The vegetation is varied and lush, more than a thousand species in a territory of holm oaks, oaks and beeches. We recommend visiting the Fageda d'en Jordà.
You can also take an urban walk through Olot, the city of volcanoes and the capital of La Garrotxa.
