BANYOLES
Banyoles is the capital of Pla de l'Estany, a flat territory covered by a pond and flanked by the Rocacorba mountain range.
It is a village linked to a pond, it is the largest natural lake in Catalonia. You can go around the pond on foot or by bicycle and the road is flat and easy. You can walk until you reach the Banys Vells and continue to parc de la Draga, where there are neolithic sites of the same name, pass by the Wooden House (the only free access point for swimming in summer) and for the Torra del Rem from where you will have a very good perspective of the north of the lake. You can see a wide variety of birds, fish, amphibians and plants.
We also recommend visiting the Plaza Mayor, the Church of Santa Maria de Turers, the Regional Archaeological Museum and the Darder Museum of Natural History.
As a sports tourist destination, in Banyoles you can do various activities in an unbeatable environment, among which we highlight the five certified sports: rowing, swimming, canoeing, cycling and triathlon.
